Japanese scrap prices head south
Japanese scrap prices continued to descend this week, Kallanish notes.
Leading EAF operator, Tokyo Steel Manufacturing announced another cut in its domestic procurement prices for scrap by JPY 500/tonne ($4/t). Effective 16 November, the steelmaker will pay JPY 34,000/t for H2 grade scrap trucked to the its Utsunomiya steelworks, located north of Tokyo.
