Japanese scrap prices falter at home and overseas
The Kanto Tetsugen monthly scrap export tender settled lower on Tuesday, Kallanish notes.
In the latest tender, which opened on 12 March, 5,000 tonnes of Japanese H2 grade scrap for shipment by 30 April was awarded at JPY 50,100/t ($340/t) fas. This is JPY 2,987/t lower than last month’s award price of JPY 53,087/t, on 9 February. In dollar terms, the latest award price is $15/t lower than last month.
