Japanese scrap prices continue uptrend
Japanese domestic and export prices rose further this week, Kallanish notes.
In Vietnam, offers for Japanese H2 scrap rose to $390/tonne cfr Wednesday, up from $385/t cfr on Thursday. “There are no bids. Buyers are in no hurry to book,” a Vietnamese importer discloses.
“I think no one will accept at this level,” another Vietnamese trader says. “Local billet prices are weaker,” he adds.
