Japanese scrap nudges higher
Japanese scrap export prices continue to rise, Kallanish notes. The spike in freight rates is pushing prices higher.
South Korea-based Daehan Steel has raised the bidding price for Japanese scrap to JPY 42,500/tonne ($401/t) fob for H2 grade material. This is JPY 2,000/t higher than Hyundai Steel’s bid for H2 on 18 January.
