Japanese scrap continues to tumble
Japanese scrap prices continued to descend this week, Kallanish notes.
Leading EAF operator, Tokyo Steel Manufacturing on Thursday announced another cut in its domestic procurement prices for scrap by JPY 500/tonne ($4/t). Effective 7 December, the steelmaker will pay JPY 31,500/t for H2 grade scrap trucked to its Utsunomiya steelworks, located north of Tokyo.
