Japanese domestic, Taiwanese imported scrap prices rise

Tokyo Steel Manufacturing’s will raise its scrap purchase prices at several of its steelworks, Kallanish understands. This indicates that domestic scrap demand in Japan is firm. Effective 2 March, the Japanese leading EAF mill will increase its scrap buying prices by JPY 500/tonne ($5/t) for most scrap grades at its steelworks at Kyushu, Utsunomiya, and Tahara.
