Italian wire rod prices flatten amid weak activity
Italian wire rod prices remain mostly stable compared to last month despite producers increasing asking prices last month to €650/tonne ($699) for drawing-quality material.
Consumption however continues to be subdued in Europe and transaction levels are flattening compared to the end of May, sources tell Kallanish. A wire rod buyer says prices cannot increase and will continue to be dragged down by the lower values of finished products.
