Italian, Spanish buying propel Turkish HR flats exports
Turkish hot rolled flat product exports under HS code heading 7208 surged 38% on-year in May to 353,091 tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish.
Exports of HR unpickled wide strip under 3mm thick accounted for 121,850t, up 71%. The main markets for this product were Italy with 67,579t, up almost 14-fold, and Spain with 35,835t, up 110%. The average value/tonne of these exports was $651 versus $537/t in May …
