Italian scrap import contract prices increase
Italian scrap import transaction prices from other western European countries are increasing this month by €10/tonne ($10.8). The hike is in line with domestic price increases due to shortages, market sources say.
Demand from Italian mills has been strong in May. EU suppliers, however, have less E40 and E8 available to sell to Italy, with scrap shortages now becoming an issue for several suppliers and mills, Kallanish notes.
