Italian plate prices flatten in quiet market
Italian plate prices are flattening. Sluggish activity seen since early March is persisting as large buyers continue to be absent. Sales are being implemented only for small tonnages, sources tell Kallanish.
Domestic material is being challenged by low-priced imported plate, which is offered and sold at Italian ports at slightly below €700/tonne ($757) cfr for the high-quality, S355 grade.
