Italian minister signs decree to start Ilva's sale process
The Italian minister of economic development, Federica Guidi, has signed the decree which enables Ilva’s special commissioners to activate the sale of the company's assets to private firms, Kallanish learns from the Italian Ministry of Development (MISE). According to the official note released by the Italian ministry, the transition process envisioned by the three officials, Piero Gnudi, Corrado Carruba and Enrico Laghi, is expected to be completed within four years.
An international call for expression of interest is expected to be issued on January 5 "...in order to complete the transitional procedures within the term of June 30, 2016, as described on the law-decree approved by the Council of Ministers on December 4,” the document states.
According to the statement released by cabinet secretary Claudio de Vincenti in December, "…the government will allocate €300 million ($324m) to support and facilitate the transition process, speeding up the acquisition by a private company."
