Iron ore slips slightly as steel futures hold
Chinese steel futures prices hardly moved on Wednesday showing little movement on the exchanges. Seaborne iron ore continues its momentarily slow but apparently unchecked descent on the wrong side of the $40/tonne level.
The May 2016 rebar contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed up just CNY 1/tonne at CNY 1656/t ($257.6/t) while the same contract for hot rolled coil also closed up CNY 2/t at CNY 1731/t.
