Iranian rebar consumption rises, semis continue export growth

Iranian billet production rose 12% on-year in the ten months through 19 January to 8.02 million tonnes. Slab output meanwhile grew 8% to 7.39mt, according to newly-released Iranian Steel Producers Association data monitored by Kallanish. Both were supported by a growth in export sales. Ten-month billet exports surged 37% to 1.8mt, while slab shipments abroad sky-rocketed 2,398% to 1.05mt.
