Iranian producers' association again questions apparent consumption growth

The Iranian Steel Producers’ Association (ISPA) has again questioned Iran’s apparent rebar consumption growth at a time when the construction industry is experiencing a downturn, exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic. Iranian finished steel apparent consumption rose 21% on-year in the nine months through 20 December to 14 million tonnes. Apparent long product consumption grew 30%, with rebar use up 33% to 5.91mt.
