Iranian iron ore output continues to grow
Iranian iron ore concentrate production in the five months through 22 August grew 23% on-year to 15.61 million tonnes, according to the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organisation (Imidro).
Gol Gohar remained the market leader with 5.62mt of output, followed by Chadormalu with 3.57mt and Central Iron Ore with 2.01mt. Goharzamin came next with 1.81mt, followed by Middle East Mines and Mineral Industry Development (Midhco) with 1.56mt and Sangan Opal Parsian with 711,715t.
Merchant run-of-mine iron ore production, meanwhile, fell -9% on-year in the five months to 2.35mt. The main producers were Central Iron Ore with 740,220t, Sangan with 539,700t, Jalalabad with 412,484t, Central Plateau with 372,432t and Chadormalu with 157,440t.
