Iranian consumption rises in April from low base
Iranian apparent steel consumption rose 8% on-year in the month through 20 April to 1.52 million tonnes, according to Iranian Steel Producers’ Association (ISPA) data monitored by Kallanish.
Long steel use surged 20%, with rebar consumption up 23% to 558,000t. This came from a low base, however, as activity in the year-earlier month was curtailed by the coronavirus outbreak. Flat steel apparent consumption however fell 1% to 814,000t, despite coated sheet us…
