Iran sees modest one-month iron, steel output growth
Iran increased its steel output in the first month of the Iranian calendar year, which runs from 21 March to 20 April.
The country's semi-finished and finished steel output rose modestly, by 1.1% and 2% on-year, respectively. However, production of direct reduced and hot-briquetted iron, iron ore pellet and concentrate all surged due to new capacity coming on stream in the last year, notes Kallanish.
