Iran seeks 32mt crude steel capacity next year
Iran plans to reach capacities of 32 million tonnes/year of crude steelmaking, 35m t/y of direct reduced iron and 42m t/y of iron ore pellets by 20 March 2018, or the end of the next Iranian year. This is according to Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organisation (Imidro) chairman Mehdi Karbasian.
Moreover, iron ore concentrate capacity will be increased to 50m t/y.
