Iran capacity increase plan 'optimistic', says Mobarakeh chief
The Iranian government’s plan to increase crude steelmaking capacity to 55 million tonnes/year by 2025 is optimistic, according to the managing director of the country’s largest steelmaker, Mobarakeh Steel. Nevertheless, Iran will need to invest in new iron ore processing capacity that could see pellets or direct reduced iron made available for export.
