Chinas inland steel demand growth hit by slowdown
In recent years China’s inland regions have been growing faster than the more developed eastern seaboard. China’s current economic slowdown is changing the nature of this shift as sluggish real estate counteracts demand generated by government support, Kallanish notes.
In terms of steel demand from manufacturing and infrastructure there is a fairly clear shift to inland provinces, while construction steel demand is seeing the opposite movement.
