Indonesian steel imports and exports both rise
Indoneisan steel exports by value reached $5.75 billion in 2018, a sharp rise of 72% year-on-year, reports Indonesia's Investor Daily. The main export products are steel products with an HS code beginning with 72, Kallanish notes.
The increase in exports of products with HS codes starting with 72 was due to the operation of new plants in Indonesia and the low consumption rate of domestic steel products.
