India's NMDC sees sharp decline in production, sales
NMDC, India's largest iron ore producer, faced a notable downturn in its production and sales in May, indicating potential challenges in the sector, reports Kallanish.
The company's iron ore production plummeted in May by 36% year-on-year and 21% month-on-month to 2.34 million tonnes. Sales also experienced a significant drop, falling 22% year-on-year and 20% m-o-m to 2.82mt.
