India’s February coking coal, iron ore imports rise
Indian coking coal imports grew 9% on-year to 4.92 million tonnes in February, against 4.52mt imported a year earlier. In April 2022-February 2023, coking coal imports grew 19% on-year to 53.87mt, Kallanish notes.
India’s intake of iron ore meanwhile surged by 24% on-year to 5.01mt in February. Imports, however, plummeted 12% on-year to 40.13mt in April-February, against 45.4mt imported a year ago.
