India's coking coal imports drop, RINL slumps
India’s coking coal imports have registered a 12% month-on-month drop to 4.59 million tonnes in April 2024, according to vessel-lineup data obtained by Kallanish from a reliable source.
This drop in imports can be attributed to a few major Indian mills undergoing maintenance and subdued steel demand in recent months, coinciding with the general elections that began in April.
