India projects 161mt coking coal demand in 2030
India's coking coal requirement is projected to reach 161 million tonnes by the fiscal year through March 2030 (FY30), according to an Inter-Ministerial Committee report from March, accessed by Kallanish.
This aligns with India's goal of achieving a steelmaking capacity of 300m t/year by FY30, as per the National Steel Policy 2017.
