Indian steelmakers bank on defence sector
Essar Steel aims to substitute imports into India with its own production of steel grades used in military manufacturing, the annual demand for which is estimated at 200,000 tonnes, according to the Indian steelmaker. 50% of this demand is flat steel with the balance structural steel.
