Indian steel majors see rise in August production
Indian crude steel production grew 17.4% on-year to 11.90 million tonnes in August versus 10.14mt produced a year ago, according to Joint Plant Committee data monitored by Kallanish.
JSW Steel was by far the largest crude steel manufacturer in August, with production surging 16.3% to 2.19mt versus 1.89mt produced last year. Tata Steel was the second-largest producer, with output clocking in at 1.73mt, up 8.8% on-year.
