Indian imported scrap rises, buyers become cautious
Imported scrap prices in the Indian market experienced a notable uptick last week, climbing by $5-8/tonne, fuelled by robust buying sentiment across the country.
However, as the week drew to a close, buyers adopted a more cautious approach, resulting in reduced bookings, notes Kallanish.
EU-origin shredded scrap currently commands a price of $425-428/t, while West-African HMS (80:20) is pegged at $400-405/t, both cfr west India.
