Indian billet export offers surge on Africa demand

Indian mills have raised their billet offers to Africa on the back of positive sentiment developing ahead of Ramadan and upcoming elections in Kenya. Steelmakers have raised the offers by $30-35/tonne, Kallanish notes. Offers for induction furnace (IF) grade 100mm square billet to Africa are noted at $910-920/t cfr Kenya and Tanzania, equating to $800-810/t fob Indian west coast.
