Indian billet export offers surge on costlier feedstock
Owing to costlier feedstocks and the devaluating rupee, Indian mills have hiked billet export offers to $810-830/tonne fob India.
Blast furnace (BF) grade billet offers are heard at $830-840/t fob, whereas induction furnace (IF) grade billet offers are hovering at $810-820/t fob. A major Indian mill has offered billet to Egypt at $910/t cfr and a few traders were heard quoting at $880-890/t cfr Egypt.
