India imposes 20% safeguard duty on some flats imports
India has imposed a 200-day provisional safeguard duty of 20% on some flat products imports, effective from 14 September, Kallanish learns from the country’s finance ministry.
The duty applies to imports from all countries of products falling under HS code heading 7208, as well as the item under HS code 72253090. These are hot rolled coil and plate of non-alloy and other alloy steel with a width over 600mm, either pickled or non-pickled.
