Ind-Ra foresees reduced Indian demand, cheaper iron ore
Indian steel demand is likely to weaken in the near term owing to subdued automotive and real estate sector activity. However, this will be partially offset by robust demand from the infrastructure and affordable housing sectors. So says India Ratings and Research (Ind-Ra).
Prices for 64% Fe iron ore on a c&f India basis are expected to soften in the near term after rising to $120/tonne in April and peaking at $135/t in July.
