Imported scrap drops in India, Pakistan follows suit
Imported scrap prices in India dipped by $5-7/tonne last week due to decreased buying activity.
EU/UK-origin shredded scrap is priced at $415-420/t, while West Africa-origin HMS (80:20) scrap stands at $395-400/t, and South Africa-origin HMS (90:10) scrap is at $400-405/t, all on a cfr west India basis, notes Kallanish.
