Ilva denies slopping accident at Taranto
Italy’s Ilva has officially denied that the red smoke recently seen at Taranto is the outcome of so-called slag slopping, the company tells Kallanish. The smoke was the result of a cast iron spillage during the loading of a torpedo.
The clarification follows criticism expressed by several environmental associations in the area which are requesting the closure of the site.
