Icdas reduces domestic rebar prices
Turkish scrap-based long steelmaker Icdas has cut its prices of rebar and wire rod for the domestic market, following the decline in scrap import prices, notes Kallanish.
The steelmaker's 12-32mm, 10mm, and 8mm diameter rebar is offered at TRY 2,500/tonne ($661/t), TRY 2,510/t and TRY 2,520/t respectively, with effect from 29 January. This is down by TRY 60/t from the previous price list and follows a TRY 50/t reduction in the second week of January.
Icdas' 5.5-8.5mm dia wire rod (SAE 1006) prices have also gone down by TRY 60/t to TRY 2,690-2,720/t. The company's prices are ex-works and include 18% VAT.
Turkish scrap imports slowed down last week, with only one booking heard. But this deal took scrap prices down a further $5/t (see Kallanish 26 January).
