Hyundai Steel maintains Japanese scrap prices
South Korea’s Hyundai Steel has kept its weekly Japanese scrap purchase price unchanged despite an uptrend in scrap import prices in East Asian markets, Kallanish notes. The leading EAF steelmaker maintained its Japanese H2 scrap bid price at JPY 30,500/t ($269/t) last Friday after opening its weekly tender the day before. Its purchase prices for Japanese scrap are unchanged since 13 October.
