Hubei plans steel capacity cuts
China’s Hubei Province plans to cut 3 million tonnes/year of steelmaking capacity in the next three years, according to a 3-June local government meeting monitored by Kallanish.
The steel capacity reduction will not include Wuhan Iron & Steel Company because it is centrally state-owned and will come under plans to reduce capacity controlled by the central state-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission.
