Higher prices attract more HRC production
China's hot rolled coil market has remained strong in recent days, and higher profits have also encouraged more producers to switch to HRC production, Kallanish notes.
Benxi Iron & Steel (Bengang) and Maanshan Iron & Steel (Magang) have announced they will overhaul their cold-rolling production lines and will have additional HRC available as a result.
