Henan Yaxin buys Primetals' EAFs
Primetals has signed a deal to supply two 120-tonne EAFs to Henan Yaxin Group, Kallanish learns. Yaxin has been aiming to expand production at the same time as it shifts away from converter steelmaking, Kallanish notes.
The two 1.2 million tonne/year Quantum EAFs can be charged with varying grades of scrap, which is preheated to minimise electricity and carbon electrode consumption.
