Hegang Shijiazhuang Steel to build two EAFs
Hebei Iron & Steel's subsidiary Shijiazhuang Steel plans to build two electric arc furnaces instead of the previously-announced two oxygen converters, according to a Hebei government website notice. This shows that steelmakers in Hebei, under the encouragement of government, are planning less-time-consuming steelmaking investments with lower pollution and higher profit, Kallanish notes.
