Hebei coke shortage foreseen on capacity cuts
A Hebei steelmaker says the province should stop cutting coke capacity or it will trigger a coke shortage, according to a meeting of the provincial National People Congress (NPC). Hebei plans to restrict its coke capacity within 60 million tonnes/year by 2020, but the province already relies heavily on coke and coal imports from neighbouring provinces such as Shanxi, Kallanish notes.
