Hebei to restrict iron ore output
Hebei aims to control its iron ore production to around 280 million tonnes/year by the end of 2020, and iron ore concentrate output to 60m t/y, according to the provincial Development & Reform Commission.
An official from the Hebei Bureau of Geology and Mineral Exploration estimates the iron ore self-efficiency by then should be around 25%. This implies around 240m t/y of 65% Fe iron ore demand from Hebei by 2020, Kallanish notes.
