New Hebei environmental law could limit steel production
Hebei’s provincial standing committee has passed an environmental law to stop heavily polluting industrial companies from exceeding a certain level of emissions, according to Beijing Times. The law will come into force from 1 January.
Increasingly serious air pollution in northern China has led to more and more frequent steel production restrictions in the region (see separate Kallanish article).
