Hebei province completes steel sector workforce resettlement
China’s Hebei province has announced completion by the end of September of the resettlement of workers displaced by its 2017 steel capacity closure programme, according to the provincial Human Resource and Social Security Department. This year Hebei has removed 14.86 million tonnes/year of steel and 15.02m t/y of iron capacity, accounting for 95.1% and 92.5% of its annual elimination targets.
