Guangxi Guigang changes blast furnace upgrade plan

China's Guangxi Guigang Iron & Steel Group said on 4 June that it plans to reduce the size of its new blast furnace (BF) in the capacity upgrade project, Kallanish learns from Guangxi's Department of Industry and Information Technology. Guigang Steel aims to build one 1,490 cubic metre-BF with around 1.33 million tonnes/year capacity instead of one 2,050cum BF with over 1.74m t/y capacity. This new BF is now expected to be commissioned in December 2026…
