Global stainless steel production rises 8.9% in 2016
Global crude stainless steel production rose 8.9% year-on-year in 2016 to 45.3 million tonnes, supported mainly by growth of 13.6% y-o-y in China, according to data from ISSF reported by the Spanish-headquartered Acerinox group.
The recovery was stronger than the average annual growth of 5.9% registered since 1950, Kallanish notes.
