Germany produces less crude steel in early 2019
Germany's steel mills produced -5% less crude steel year-on-year in the first two months of 2019, Kallanish learns from the German steel industry federation WV Stahl.
After a start to the year that was considered as very weak, partly due to extended maintenance at one rebar mill, steel output in February was -3.6% lower y-o-y at 3.32 million tonnes. The on-year difference for finished rolled products was more pronounced, falling by -4.9%, to 2.87mt.
