German steel production remains subdued

Crude steel production by German mills in April continued to be lower than a year earlier, national steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung (WV) Stahl writes in its monthly statistics. Mills produced 3.2 million tonnes of crude steel, some 4% less than in April 2022. In the first four months, the year-on-year drop was 6%, totalling 12.35mt, Kallanish notes.
