German steel output hits low in 2022
Crude steel production at German mills last year was 8% lower than in 2021, coming to 36.85 million tonnes, according to steel federation WV Stahl.
The figure is still somewhat above the output seen in 2020, the year of Covid, but marks the second-lowest production performance since the financial crisis in 2009.
