German steel order backlog remains high after H1
Order intake for finished products at German mills in the second quarter lost momentum after Q1, and the order backlog at the end of June was -2% below that of June 2016. Still, at slightly above 9 million tonnes, it kept an above-average level, steel federation WV Stahl maintains.
The order intake in Q2 amounted to 9.15mt, -12% below Q2 2016. For the first half, the figure was 19.29mt, down -6% year-on-year. The drop in Q2 was most pronounced for domestic order…
